Beekeeping for East Texas landowners who want the bees but not the work. You own the hives; I keep them. Pollination, swarm removal, and raw honey too.

Outyard hive management

Your bees, your hives, your honey. I do the beekeeping.

You buy the hives and the bees; they are yours from day one and they stay on your land. What I sell is the labor and the judgment — placing the yard well, then inspecting and managing the colonies through the year so you never have to open a box yourself.

  • Site walk and hive placement suited to your forage, water, and vehicle access
  • Sourcing of hives, bees, and equipment, purchased by and titled to you
  • Inspection and management on a schedule that follows the season
  • Mite treatment, feeding through dearth and winter, and colony replacement as needed
  • On-site honey harvest in July when the crop allows — the honey is yours, and this can be run as a family or company event
Colony management
Per colony, per month. Billed annually each April. A ten-hive yard runs $350 a month, or $4,200 for the year.
$35 / mo
Hives, bees, and equipment
Bought by you and yours to keep. I source them at cost and set the yard up. Quoted by hive count.

Splits added to your yard
When a colony is split, the new hive is yours. Keep it and it joins the yard at the standard rate. Ask me to take it off the property instead and there is no charge.
$35 / mo
Queen replacement
Invoiced after the queen is installed, only when a colony needs one.
$50 each
Feed and supplies
Sugar water, pollen patties, and sugar bricks during dearth and winter, reimbursed at cost. I keep every receipt.

Relocating an established yard
Moving hives to a new location on or off your property, quoted per move.
$1,500

Two things I need from you: year-round access to the hives by two-wheel-drive vehicle, and a heads-up about pesticide spraying, livestock, or dogs near the yard.

Management agreement terms

What we both sign up for. Full agreement provided before your first payment.

  • Management runs on an annual term, paid in advance each April. New yards are prorated to the April cycle.
  • Hives, bees, boxes, and equipment are bought by you and remain your property throughout. If the agreement ends, they stay where they are — you keep them.
  • Any honey your colonies produce belongs to you. I extract it; I do not take a share of it.
  • Cancelling requires one year’s notice. Ending the agreement sooner incurs a $1,200 early termination fee.
  • Honey production is never guaranteed. Whether a yard makes a surplus crop depends on flora and weather, and the bees are always left enough honey to overwinter.
  • For an on-site July harvest, you provide the enclosed space and the jars. I bring all bee equipment and do the extraction.
  • Additional costs — splits, queens, feed — are invoiced as they occur, not estimated up front.
  • Old Waverly Honeybees is a sole proprietorship of Troy A. Yard. Liability is limited to amounts paid for the service in question. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Old Waverly Honey

Raw, unfiltered, and unblended. Bottled from our own hives.

Old Waverly Honey back label showing net weight and handling information.

Nothing heated, nothing filtered, nothing added. It will crystallize on the shelf over time — that is what raw honey does, and warming the jar gently brings it back.

Jars are sold through our partner TnT Coffee Roasters, who handle the storefront, payment, and shipping.

16 oz jar — $20.00 USD. Shipping calculated at checkout by TnT Coffee Roasters.

Do not feed honey to infants under twelve months. Honey is sold as a raw agricultural product; no health or medical claim is made about it.

Honeybees only. For wasps, hornets, or yellowjackets you will want a pest control company.

Refund and cancellation policy

Last updated September 2026.

  • Before hives are placed. Cancel any time before placement and your annual management payment is refunded in full to the original payment method.
  • Within 14 days of your first payment. Full refund of the management fee.
  • After placement. The unused portion of the annual management term is refunded pro rata, less the early termination fee where it applies.
  • Hives, bees, and equipment. These are your purchases, not a service fee. Once bees are installed they cannot be refunded, and they remain yours whatever happens to the management agreement.
  • Queen and feed invoices. These cover work already completed and materials already bought, so they are not refundable. Ask for the receipts any time.
  • Service bookings. Pollination and removal jobs cancelled more than 48 hours ahead are refunded in full. Inside 48 hours, the deposit is retained.
  • Weather. If I have to cancel a scheduled visit, we reschedule at no charge to you.
  • Timing. Refunds are issued within 5 business days. Your bank may take a few days more to post them.
  • Honey jars are sold by TnT Coffee Roasters and fall under their refund policy.
